Art Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Rougemont School is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.6) enthusiastic, well qualified teacher of art and design who is able to teach primarily KS3. The art department is very popular and offers a broad range of disciplines at KS3 such as drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. The position is to cover Maternity leave and will run from 10 October 2022 until the end of June 2023 (exact end date to be advised at interview).  The postholder will be expected to do after school duties on a rota basis and also help out with afterschool club once a week.

The successful candidate would be required to contribute to the co-curricular activities offered by the department from KS3 – 5. Detailed knowledge of exam board requirements at KS4/5 are desirable as the successful candidate will be required to assist and support colleagues within the department with internal moderation. A familiarity with relief printmaking and/or ceramics would be advantageous but not essential.

Candidates will be required to present a teaching portfolio comprising of Art at KS3 and/or above and to prepare and deliver an art lesson to KS3 pupils.

Finance Officer

The School seeks a Finance Officer.  This is a temporary term time post to cover maternity leave from 1 September 2022 to 7 June 2023, although it is planned that some training will be given during one week in the July/August 2022 summer holiday.

The postholder will administer the School meals finance function.  He/she will process and publicise daily menus, operate the Parent Pay system, review balances and highlight any discrepancies or issues, liaise with parents about the Parent Pay system and general catering queries, maintain pupils’ meals records and operate a till in the refectory during lunchbreaks.

Candidates should have experience of working in a general administration and/or finance environment, and must be organised and able to demonstrate good communication skills, a knowledge of basic administration systems and IT packages (including Word and Excel, and, ideally, the Parent Pay system).  They must also be able to work effectively as part of a team and on their own initiative.

The normal working hours for the post will be 9 am to 2.30 pm Monday to Friday during term times.  The successful candidate will be expected to take holidays during School holiday periods.
