News & Events

Each year for ‘Fairtrade Week’ a new theme is promoted nationally. This year the theme is ‘Footsteps’. We as a school are encouraging all the children to think of how we can step forward in promoting and using fairtrade products. Each child will receive a piece of card on which we ask they draw around their foot – decorate and write (parental help may be necessary!) how they can help Fairtrade promotion. These pledges will then be displayed around school.
We have also taken on board the 90Kg Rice Challenge. 90Kg of rice being equivalent to the cost for a farmer in Milawi, to send a child to school for a year. We will be selling the rice at £2.70 a bag. With your support ‘The Rougemont School Footstep’ will help Fairtrade farmers send their children to school for a year.

The ECO Christmas Card Competition

The cards have been counted!  We are very pleased to announce that the Prep School as a whole collected 19,969 Christmas cards for recycling.  Mrs Williams and some of the Junior Eco committee explained how the cards would be recycled at a special whole school assembly. Gracie and Sonoma enjoyed counting the last few cards!

Please take a look at our Infant Photo Gallery to find out what a fantastic time we have had in school.

Reminder

We would like to politely remind all Year 1 and Year 2 parents that their children's bags and coats must be placed in the hall in the designated class areas.  Normally the children will play outside until the whistle is blown at 8.50. On wet weather the days the children will remain in the Infant Dining Hall, before being taken upstairs to their classrooms by a teacher.  We wish to encourage your children to be independent and to take responsibility for their own belongs and would appreciate your support in this matter.
