Trips
It's a busy week next week with Year One going on two trips. On Tuesday it is our trip to St Fagans, which links in with the children learning about homes in the past. We will be at St. Fagans for the whole school day. On Friday, we will be visiting Raglan to see the Olympic flame as it tours the country. On this day the children will be out of school for the morning only. Please can the children wear full school uniform and have other appropriate clothing depending on the weather. Can the children also have a pocket sized bottle of water for the trip to Raglan. Thank you.
Bottles
Thank you for the plastic bottles you sent in. The children have made their Olympic flame shakers ready for the Raglan trip on Friday morning. After the event, your child can bring this home to give you hours of percussion instrument fun! Remember you can watch the events streamed live on the BBC website.
Art Exhibition
Don't forget about our Art Exhibition, which is on Thursday. The children have worked hard preparing our Year One piece and credit must go to Miss Leaves for adding the finishing touches to it. For any more details that were not explained on the letter, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Week in general
It's been another really good week for the children. Myself and Miss Leaves are very pleased with their efforts in all areas of the curriculum. The children are academically improving all the time and listening to any advice to improve their work. We are delighted with their efforts.
Homework - New spellings are given out on Monday and tested on Friday. A short numeracy and literacy activity will be given out on Friday to be returned on Monday. Reading - Mr Bevan Monday – Thursday and Miss Leaves Tuesday – Friday. Please can children bring their reading folders to school every day as there may be information to go in their yellow reading record books.
