Mrs Greenaway and Mrs Williams welcome you to year 3

Hello and a warm welcome to year 3.

This will be a year of greater independence and exciting new challenges. Children settle in quickly and soon adapt to Junior School routines and surroundings.

Here are some useful ideas we feel will help the children with this transition.

• At home, give the children some responsibility, however small and expect them to accept this responsibility. For example, packing their own school bag or lunch box or giving you letters from school.
• Getting homework done is the children's responsibility, with your help and support.
• Help your children to look after their own things at home, which will help them with their personal organisation at school.
• Let your children do as much as possible for themselves, even if it is frustrating to watch and wait! They do get quicker.
• Give plenty of praise for achievements, however small.
