Year 3 Work Gallery

Year 3 visit from P.C. Davies

P.C. Davies did a workshop with us on the theme of staying safe and looking after each other.

Year 3 visit to St Fagans

On a misty, damp morning year 3 travelled back in time 2000 years to arrive in an Iron Age Celtic village. The tribe of the village were busy but Gwall the warrior took some time to talk to us about his life.

Year 3 showed Gwall what brave warriors they were by shouting their Rougemont warrior cry.

Gwall thought we were very frightening so he agreed to show us what life was like in the village.

Gwall taught us how to twist fleece into wool to make bracelets. He also showed us the bronze and iron spears which his tribe had made ready for defending their village.

We left Gwall busy preparing a new piece of wattle and daub fencing for his roundhouse.

Next, we went to Cardiff Museum where we met Ken the archaeologist. He told us an exciting story of Byddug the warrior queen of the Silures tribe, who died whilst hunting a wild boar in the forest. Back at school we acted out the story.

Year 3 Science

What's inside my body?

We thought, discussed and worked in small teams to show where we thought the major organs of the body were. We used our communication and thinking skills and tried hard to cooperate with each other. It was fun!

 Year 3 Art

Double Portraits

We went into the playground on a sunny afternoon to stike a pose for the double portrait we are working on in art.

The finished portraits will take several sessions of detailed observation, drawing and painting.
