At Key Stage 5 students follow the WJEC AS and A2 examination syllabus. Students are taught over a period of nine lessons per fortnight. They are required to study drama from the point of view of actors, directors and designers. They study a wide variety of plays, consider the influence of theatre practitioners and explore the constantly changing world of theatre and the impact it has on peoples’ lives.
They are assessed through practical work, written coursework and a final external examination.
Students are expected to enhance their skills as practitioners through their growing appreciation of dramatic techniques and devices.
All students are expected to take part in the Senior School Productions in some way. Regular trips to the theatre are offered to all of those studying drama.
