This is a new course and one that has been introduced to the whole of Year 7 for one hour a week and at Year 8 and 9 it is offered as an alternative to either Latin or German and is studied in 3 lessons over a fortnightly timetable.

Drama in year 7 reflects and enhances the English curriculum through the use of verbal understanding and practical re enactment of plays, poems and novels.

In years 8 and 9 students focus on theme based issues such as bullying and growing up. Through the use of plays, films and other media forms, students are expected to devise, write and perform their own work and play the part of an appreciative audience at all times. They are assessed in the three areas of making, performing and responding to drama.
