EXAM RE-MARKING – HOW TO APPLY
The following services are provided by the examination boards once A Level, AS Level and GCSE results have been published:
Access to Marked Exam Scripts
You can ask for a priority copy of your exam script(s) before deciding whether to ask for a re-mark, there is usually only a limited time within this request can be made. You may instead ask for a non-priority copy of your exam script for general interest but, if you do, you cannot ask for a re-mark later.
You can ask for a full clerical check of your exam script. A check will be made to see that all parts of your script have been marked, that the marks on the script have been correctly totalled and correctly recorded.
Whether initially you request your script or not you may apply to have your exam paper re-marked by a senior examiner if you feel an error has been made. A full clerical check will also be made.
NB. Priority re-marks are for Y13 students whose place in higher education is dependent upon the outcome.
Changes to marks and grades
In cases where a clerical check or re-mark reveals clerical error or inaccurate marking, marks and grades for units may be confirmed, lowered or raised. The fee will only be refunded if subject grades are amended.
The fees and services provided by the examination boards are detailed in the Post Results Service table. Please contact the Examinations Officer for further information.
