Our pupils in Upper Infants have enjoyed lots of fun activities this week as part of their study of instructional writing.

Pupils are reading the book ‘Stone Soup’ and participated in a carousel of activities to support their learning which included making lanterns and learning Chinese characters.

They prepared their very own ‘stone soup’ by practising their chopping and peeling skills.  Pupils got creative and messy as they made their very own clay pot for their ‘stone soup’.

Pupils explored characterisation within the book by participating in some physical drama activities including freeze frame, hot seating and facial expressions.

What a jam-packed day!
