As we approach the end of 2018, Rougemont PTA would like to thank parents and staff for all the support and encouragement you have given us and the children in our projects this year.
As a PTA, our aims are to add to the children’s enjoyment and enrichment at school either via events such as Grow A Pound, End of Term Discos and the Junior Year 6 Leavers Party, or funding equipment for extracurricular clubs/opportunities and to also generate a feeling of community within the school.
Our objective for this year’s Christmas Fayre was to put on a festive afternoon of fun for the children, staff and parents which we hope was achieved. We are pleased to say we also raised £1,541.00 in the process.
That, together with the money from our amazing other events and raffles this year, means you have helped us raise £1,754.77. A BIG thank you to you all!
Money from Grow a Pound is still ring-fenced for the Junior Yard area which will be started once the new build has been entirely completed. As well as the Junior Yard, the PTA Committee also funded a fantastic amount for a projector for the Senior Astronomy Club, ECDL Membership for the whole school, headphones for the Senior Maths Club, balance bikes for the Infant School, yoga mats for 6th Form Mindfulness Yoga Sessions and whole school sponsorship to the Gwent Wildlife Trust and the Newport Suspension Bridge.
We would like to take this opportunity to invite any staff, parents/guardians and grandparents who have been thinking of joining us to get in touch – we would welcome you on board and with an ever increasing calendar of events, there are many ways you can get involved.
May we wish you a wonderful time over the holidays,
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
See you in 2019!
