Year 8: Investigating Animals
This half term, Year 8 have been exploring how animals are portrayed in Art. They have taken part in online drawing workshops where they were encouraged to use their own pets as inspiration for a series of experimental drawings. The pupils have also investigated the animal artwork of artists such as George Stubbs, Franz Marc, Jeff Koons, and Henry Moore. Pupils created their own personal response to the artists work and ended the half term creating a surreal creature inspired by the work of Leonora Carrington and taking a virtual guided tour of the animal cave paintings of Lascaux (https://archeologie.culture.fr/lascaux/en) Year 8 have worked exceptionally well online this half term and we are thoroughly impressed with their positive ad enthusiastic approach towards their art work. Well done Year 8!
