The Art Department has been a hive of activity throughout the first half of the summer term. Despite KS3 lessons still being taught in non-specialist teaching rooms, we have introduced the pupils to a range of materials, drawing and construction processes and techniques.

Year 7 have been experimenting with ceramics and painting. Year 8 have explored the mono-printing process and creating watercolour surfaces to draw upon. Year 9 have experimented with ceramics, mono-printing, the low reliefs of Ben Nicholson, the abstract compositions of Russian constructivism and the architecture of Antoni Gaudi and Frank Gehry.

Yet again, the pupils have excelled in both effort and enthusiasm during their lessons which has made the transportation of specialist equipment between the Art Studio and the Burge Building worthwhile.
