Rougemont School is a non-profit making charitable trust run by a Board of Governors. At Governors’ Meetings, which are held once a term, the Governors determine the major lines of school policy. In addition to the Full Board Meetings, a Finance and General Purposes Committee and an Education Committee hold regular meetings. The Head, an ex officio non-voting member of the Board of Governors, has the delegated responsibility of executing the Board’s policies at Rougemont School. Chair of Governors: Mr Paul Harris

Mr Harris joined the Governing Body in 2015.  He is a past parent and sits on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.  He is the former Deputy Police Commissioner for South East Wales.

Vice Chair: Mr Michael Cordner

Mr Cordner is a Solicitor in Newport and Cardiff.  He joined the Governing Body in 2015 and sits on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.  Mr Cordner’s four children all attended Rougemont.

Mr Richard Green

Mr Green joined the Governing body in 2014 and sits on the Finance and General Purposes Committee.  His son attended Rougemont.

Dr Wendy Williams

Dr Williams has worked as a Dentist in general practice for some time, but for the last twenty years she has held a senior position in the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board in the Community Dental Service.  Both of Dr Williams’ children attended Rougemont School.  Dr Williams joined the Board in June 2021 and sits on the Education Committee.

Mrs Fiona Bennett

Mrs Bennett is a specialist transport planning consultant with around 20 years’ experience of the development planning process, traffic engineering and road safety.  She currently has two children who attend Rougemont School.  Mrs Bennett joined the Board in June 2021.

Dr Anish Kotecha

Dr Kotecha is a past pupil and a current parent at Rougemont School, with two children in the Infant and Junior departments.  Dr Kotecha is a GP partner at a local surgery.  He has ambitions in Medical Education, an area which he finds both exciting and rewarding.

Mr David Lunt

Mr Lunt worked for Hoover Candy for many years and has extensive knowledge of Human Resources and employment legislation.  Mr Lunt is a past parent and has had two children attend Rougemont School.

Mrs Eleanor Farncombe

Mrs Farncombe started her career after A levels on the technical side of Theatre, in the props department at the State Opera House in Germany.  She went on to study singing at the Royal College of Music where she specialized in Early Music.    She then went on to study singing at the Royal College of Music and was chosen to take part in several masterclasses for young singers.  Through recent work with youngsters with special needs, she has found a keen interest in music and art as a therapy. She has a son who attends Rougemont Seniors.

Dr Stephen Anthony

CEO of the Institute of Six Sigma Professionals and has spent over 25 years delivering projects across a variety of industries and public sector organisations.  Dr Anthony has previously held the position of President of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce and been a Governor on Newport and Gwent Enterprise.  He lives with his family on a small farm in Monmouthshire where he farms Badger Faced mountain sheep and Muscovy ducks and can be found tinkering with old cars and tractors. He has a son who attends Rougemont Seniors.

Mrs S Kotecha

Mrs Kotecha has two children currently attending Rougemont Infants and Juniors.  Mrs Kotecha sits on the Finance and General Purposes Board.
