Visitor Policy Key Information for Parents

Welcome

Rougemont is pleased to welcome parents onto site, and we want you to feel at home here — but because pupil safety comes first, there are a few things worth knowing about how visits, drop-off, pick-up, and events work day to day.

Being on site and pick-up

If you’re on site outside the normal drop-off or pick-up window — for a meeting, an event — you will be treated as a visitor. That means signing in, wearing ID, and staying with a member of staff for the duration of your visit.  On arrival, please sign in at the Hub for a meeting at the Prep School and for all other meetings at Reception in Llantarnam Hall. This is the same process that applies to everyone, and ensures that we keep track of who is on site at any given time.

Site access hours

The main barriers stay closed from 9:00am to 3:00pm to restrict access to unauthorised vehicles. If you need to come in during that window, use the intercom at the Security Hub, and you’ll be signed in and directed through from this point.

Drop-off, late arrival, and pick-up

Before school, please stay in the designated meeting areas. If your child arrives after 9:00am, the process depends on their year group: Senior pupils register at Reception in the Burge and Prep pupils are directed to Reception in the Prep Building.

Any items, for example kit, instruments or lunches that need to be dropped off during the school day must be left at the Hub.

At afternoon dismissal, please collect from the designated areas only. If you need to contact the school about collection:

  • Infant / Junior Prep 07961 281856
  • Senior Prep 01633 820150
Parking and traffic

Please use the designated parking areas. If your vehicle is blocking access or causing a hold-up during dismissal, a member of staff may ask you to move to a different spot.

Attending fixtures and events

We thoroughly enjoy having parents and carers cheer on our teams. However, there are a few expectations for spectators: stay in the designated viewing areas, keep any children with you under your own supervision, and keep it positive — encourage effort and fair play rather than criticising players, officials, or the other side. Alcohol, smoking, and vaping are not permitted on school grounds. And please do not approach or speak directly with pupils other than your own child, even after the final whistle.

Photography and sharing images

Photos and filming at fixtures and events are fine with prior approval from the staff member running the event. Please keep images for personal use, and do not share them online without consent from the school and everyone pictured.

Weekends and holidays

Outside term time, the site is used for approved lettings only — please do not expect general access or pupil activity unless it is part of a specific, authorised school event.

If you are asked to sign in

If a member of staff asks you to sign in, wear ID, or stay with them while you’re on site, it is part of keeping every child on site safe and the same standard applies to every visitor. If you have any questions about the policy, please get in touch with the School – 01633 820800.
